As an event and wedding planner in Marrakech, Iโ€™m often asked about the best time of year to get married in this captivating city. With its contrasting seasons and unique climate, choosing the right time for your big day is crucial to ensure a memorable experience for both you and your guests. Letโ€™s delve into the seasons and find the perfect timing to exchange vows while basking in the Moroccan sun.

โ€œThe magic of Marrakech isnโ€™t just in the location – itโ€™s in picking the perfect moment to experience it.โ€

Spring: Blossom in Love (March โ€“ May)

If you’re wondering when to get married in Marrakech – spring might just be your soulmate. From March through May, the weather is basically perfect: warm, sunny days with temperatures sitting pretty between 15ยฐC to 27ยฐC (59ยฐF to 77ยฐF). Not too hot, not too cold – just right for an outdoor wedding that actually feels good.

This is when Marrakech really shows off. Gardens are blooming, the orange blossoms are out, and everything smells a little bit like magic. Whether you’re tying the knot in a riad courtyard, a chic palm grove, or under the open sky in the Agafay desert, spring serves up the perfect combo of comfort, color, and romance with a capital R.

Plus, the light? Chefโ€™s kiss. Your wedding photos will look straight out of a perfume ad.

Summer: Proceed with Caution (July & August, Weโ€™re Looking at You)

Letโ€™s be real – July and August in Marrakech are not for the faint-hearted (or anyone with pores). With temperatures regularly soaring above 45ยฐC (thatโ€™s 113ยฐF for our American friends) and sometimes peaking close to 50ยฐC, this season is officially too hot to handle – literally.

Weโ€™re talking Sahara-level heat thatโ€™s tough not only on your guests but also on the behind-the-scenes heroes setting up your wedding. When your event team is pulling 18+ hour days under a blazing sun, things can get, wellโ€ฆ sweaty and unsafe.

If youโ€™re dreaming of a Marrakech wedding, we highly recommend skipping July and August altogether. June can be very doable with the right venue and schedule, and September is back in the safe zone – still sunny, still beautiful, but a lot more breathable.

TL;DR: Save yourself (and your guests) from melting mascara and wilting florals – opt for spring, autumn, or even winter over peak summer. Marrakech will still be magical, we promise.

Autumn in Marrakech: Golden Hour Goals

Ahh, autumn – chefโ€™s kiss. This is hands down one of the best times to get married in Marrakech. From late September through November, the temperatures hover between a dreamy 20ยฐC to 30ยฐC (68ยฐF to 86ยฐF), which means no oneโ€™s sweating through their outfits and your flowers wonโ€™t wilt before โ€œI do.โ€

Itโ€™s warm enough for outdoor celebrations, cool enough for dancing all night, and bonus: youโ€™re dodging both the peak summer heat and the tourist crowds. Think golden light, rich colours, blue blue blue skies, and that just-right balance of desert sun and gentle breeze. Your guests will thank you. Your photos will glow. Your wedding planner will high-five you. Itโ€™s a win all around.

Winter in Marrakech: Cozy, Cool, and Seriously Underrated

Donโ€™t sleep on winter weddings in Marrakech – theyโ€™re the hidden gems of the season calendar. December to February brings crisp, sunny days with temps around 10ยฐC to 25ยฐC (50ยฐF to 68ยฐF). Thatโ€™s basically spring for most people.

While you probably wonโ€™t be lounging poolside, you can exchange vows with snow-dusted Atlas Mountains as your backdrop, then cozy up inside a candlelit riad for dinner and dancing in and around the warm sun of the city. Think warm lighting, glowing fireplaces, layered textures, rich Moroccan food, and all the magical winter vibes – minus the frostbite.

Pro tip: book a venue with both indoor and outdoor options, just in case the evening gets chilly. (And yes, mint tea will be flowing.)
